Costs and Charges

It is important to us that we convey the fact that all our initial meetings are carried out at our expense. Irrespective of the method of remuneration chosen after this initial meeting we have decided to operate on this basis so that we can both determine if we are right for one another without any obligation to you.

The traditional method by which clients have paid for their financial products has been through commission. This is when the adviser is paid by the provider of the product purchased. This method has worked for several hundred years and ensured that many people are able to take out financial products that benefit them.

It is still available and at present it forms a large percentage of the work that we undertake. We operate a full disclosure policy regarding commission based work.

The world of financial services grows ever complex as new loopholes are found through the rafts of legislation drafted by successive governments and the need for sound financial planning as opposed to the purchase of individual products has become more imperative.

This has lead to more and more holistic financial planning with our clients. This is more focused on the ongoing service and long term outcomes you are seeking. Like the solicitors and accountants that we work closely with we have developed a Fee based service as an alternative option for our clients. This can be on a Fixed Fee basis or an hourly rate, depending on which option you prefer.

There can be financial arguments in favour of one option or the other depending upon your circumstances. Some clients feel that the reassurance they get from engaging us on a Fee Basis is the driving force, for others they would rather not have to write out a cheque from their own bank account, so we offer a flexible strategy to meet individual needs.

It is difficult to provide an estimate of the level of fee that would be charged without knowing what work needs to be undertaken, which is why we conduct all our initial meetings at our expense. We will happily provide you with a proposal after we have had chance to meet you, listen to your needs and appraise your present situation.
